Clifton Man Dies After Falling At Construction Site
A Clifton man succumbed to his injuries after falling from a boom lift at a construction site in Meadowlands Parkway, Secaucus, New Jersey.
The fatality was identified as Arris Tunc, a resident of Clifton, New Jersey. Reports said that at around 9:30 a.m. on May 19, Tunc was atop the boom lift he was operating when it suddenly toppled.
According to Sgt. Thomas O’Keeffe of the Secaucus police, when the lift fell into its side, the boom shifted to a vertical position ejecting the victim. The police reported that it appears that the boom lift was being operated on a sloped area at the construction site when it fell.
Reportedly Tunc was still alive when emergency responders arrived at the scene but he was later pronounced dead at the Hackensack University Medical Center.
Moreover, Tunc was working for a roofing and gutter company. He was operating the said lift for the construction of a four-story building.
Aside from the local police, officials from the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration also conducted an investigation on the said accident.
