How Some Discount Auto Insurance Companies Select Their Risks

Post Date 3.12.2012 – An auto insurance company’s only alternative to improving the profit structure is being highly selective in whom they insure. This just means underwriting  only the best auto insurance risks. Although most auto insurance companies have a price for every type of car insurance risk, every insurance carrier practices some type of selective underwriting.  However, selection has normally been practiced more care-fully and assiduously by the so-called deviating companies.  These discount car insurance companies, both stock and mutual, offer sizable car insurance rate discounts to classes of drivers and individuals with better than average driving and credit records. One such car insurance carrier,  Progressive Insurance Company, has shown tremendous growth throughout it’s long and successful existence.  Other  insurance carriers whom have grown by being selective regarding their field underwriting include State Farm Insurance Company, Farmers Insurance Company, Geico Insurance Company and Allstate Insurance Company.
