Refrigerator Explosion Injures Plainfield Mom, 2 Kids
Investigators are yet to conclude the cause of explosion that gravely injured a woman and two of her children on July 17, 2012, in Plainfield, New Jersey.
According to Martin Hellwig, Plainfield public safety director, they have yet to conclude whether a refrigerator was really the cause of the kitchen explosion that transpired, around 7 in the evening in a home at 700 block of West Third Street. Authorities have initially released information that the explosion may have been triggered the refrigerator’s compressor. Said official also revealed that there were some aerosol cans placed behind the said home appliance.
Fire investigators are still investigating the said explosion that resulted to a fire displacing more than a dozen occupants, Hellwig said.
The injured woman who was not yet identified was airlifted to St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. Apparently, around fifty percent of her body suffered burns including his head, arms and legs. The woman’s two kids also suffered minor burns and were taken to a local hospital and were immediately released after treatment.
